b1= base 1= 1 ft 14 inches
b2= base 2= 1 ft 14 inches
h= height= 3 inches

STEP 1:
convert bases to inches

1 foot= 12 inches

= 12 inches + 14 inches
= 26 inches per base

STEP 2:
plug in numbers to find area

AREA OF TRAPEZOID
A= 1/2(b1 + b2)h

A= 1/2(26 in + 26 in)(3 in)
add in parentheses

A= 1/2(52 in)(3 in)
multiply parentheses

A= 1/2(156 in)
divide 156 by 2; inches times inches is inches squared

A= 78 inches squared

ANSWER: The area of the trapezoid is 78 inches squared.

Hope this helps! :)
