Ask parents for consent to help the child. call 911. assess the child's ABCs (Airway, Breathing, Circulation) if the child has something obstructing their airway, try and remove it. If you cannot, begin CPR (you can start with CPR rather than abdominal thrusts and back blows because the child is unconscious) if the child is not breathing or you cannot find a pulse, start CPR
