exlanation
remember

[tex](ab)^c=(a^c)(b^c)[/tex]
and
[tex](x^m)^n=x^{mn}[/tex]
and
[tex](x^m)(x^n)=x^{m+n}[/tex]

so

[tex]5x(3x^4y)^3=5x(3^3)((x^4)^3)(y^3)=5x(27)(x^{12})(y^3)=135x^{13}y^3[/tex]
