No it is not, the solution would need to be (2,-4) in order to satisfy the equation y = -2x -- like so -4 = -2(2)

-4 = -4, otherwise the equation won't be satisfied.

A solution means that it will make the statement true. Let substitute this in:

y = -2x
-4 = -2(1)
-4 = -2

-4 obviously isn't equal to -2, so it is not a solution to the equation.

Hope this helps!
