Then add the fractions

so you 1/12 multiplied by 2 which is 2/24, so she spent 2/24 of the day cleaning

So you multiply 1/4 by 6 which is 6/24, so she spent 6/24 of the day playing

So 6+2 is 8 which is 8/24

So 24-8 is 16

So therefore Karla spent 16 hours not cleaning or playing
